By turning big phones into a fad, there are exciting features, especially big screen advantage running on Samsung’s latest smartphones, the Note5 series.
Seen as the best Android phones in the smart phone ecosystem despite pricing, the device has lived up to all the hypes and more
Available in single and dual SIM versions, the product comes in Sapphire Black, White Pearl, Titanium Silver and Gold Platinum in 32GB or 64GB.
Crafted with metal and glass, amped up specifications and a completely reworked design, the Galaxy Note 5 is arguably one of Samsung’s most successful innovations to date.
Design
Adopting the innovative design of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, the Galaxy Note 5 has taken another step forward in offering users an ever better design.
In many ways, Samsung slimmed down the Galaxy Note 5 such that even smaller hands can have an easier time grasping it.
The Note5 makes for a better appreciation of the Gorilla Glass 4 incorporated into the design of the phone. The sides however are lined in metal with matt finish and only 7.6mm in width and thickness. With the curve around the edges of the phone and its 3D glass back, it fits comfortably into the palms of your hands without slipping.
Screen
Already, the big screen of the device is thrilling end users. The beautifully designed Note 5 flaunts a 5.7-inch screen with QHD super amoled display, allowing for clearer videos and images. The Note 5’s Quad HD super amoled display is just as vibrant as its other siblings, and even brighter.
The larger screen size is also great for productivity. Emails can now be penned quickly and if you are a social media fan, editing and cropping photos and videos just got a lot easier with its Video Collage feature. The interesting thing is that one can generally browse through your phone without having to bump up the font size due to the large screen.
User experience
Samsung has enhanced the S-Pen, which continues to be one of the integral features of the Note series. The stylus has been upgraded with a clicky top and a nib that looks more like a ballpoint pen. The little wave of shortcut buttons, which appear on the screen when the stylus is popped out, can easily be customized and the device will send an alert whenever the stylus is not in its holster.
Another delightful feature of the S-Pen is the ability to write on the screen without unlocking the device. If the screen is off and the Instant Memo feature is enabled, users can whip out the pen and just start writing.
Whatever is jotted down automatically gets sucked into the S Note when done, making it so much faster to start writing.
With the Instant Memo feature, users do not need to unlock the device, launch a memo app and create a new memo before jotting down; simply pop out the pen and start writing.
Another exciting feature of the device includes the Scroll Capture Feature, which allows users to capture multiple scrolls of a webpage.
Multimedia
Creating a device that will adequately cater to the needs of the social media savvy consumer is key in today’s Internet of Everything (IoE) world. To achieve this, Samsung has included a thrilling feature in the device called the Live Broadcast. This allows users to share or broadcast a video in real time over YouTube in full HD quality. With this feature, users can easily share special occasions as they happen with as many as 20 family and friends in real time.
An additional exciting feature is the Video Collage. Here, Samsung took the photo collage a step further into videos. Users can combine multiple short videos and make them into one single video, giving each video a different look and feel. Possessing a 16MP rear-facing camera with OIS, 5MP front-facing camera, videos and pictures production are extremely sharp.
The Processor
With an octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and a non-removable 3,000mAh battery pack, this is definitely one of the most powerful large screen devices available in the market.
Verdict:
Although the device has a non removable battery and no external storage option, striping away some of last year’s features, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5 is excellent overall. It is a device anybody who wants to write by hand should buy because of the retooled stylus.
For one thing, the Note 5 has an eye-catching design, high-end hardware and takes great outdoor photos.
With killer battery life, the device is well crafted with slim, shiny, large-screened luster, a strong camera.
