Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has dedicated the celebration of his birthday towards the fight against cancer in Lagos and Nigeria in general.

Ambode therefore, called on his family members, friends, political associates and well wishers wishing to place congratulatory messages on his birthday, billed for Sunday, June 14, to channel same to the fight against cancer.

In a statement, Wednesday, by his Chief Press Secretary, Habib Aruna, the governor sought their understanding to respect his wish to use the birthday as his modest way of touching the distressed and impacting on humanity.

“As a modest way of touching the distressed and making impact on humanity, I have decided to associate with ‘The Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP-Nigeria)’ in fighting the big war against cancer”, the governor said.

The governor urged interested people to send such donations to the First Bank Account of The Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP-Nigeria); No: 2026761622.

He said the project is being anchored by Dr. Christopher Kolade and Professor Pat Utomi and thanked the people for accepting his wish, assuring them that all such gestures will be acknowledged and appreciated.
