From email hacking to cyber threat across architecture of every platform from chip to cloud, smartphones, tablets to PCs, servers, and beyond, there appears to be insecurity in the digital world as a result of vulnerabilities despite security measures put in place by security management providers.

However, while new study finds high volume of security flaws, individuals and organizations, experts need to be proactive as a result of systems vulnerability.

Meanwhile, according to a recent report by consulting firm Deloitte, more than 90 percent of user-generated passwords are vulnerable to hacking, citing that the 10,000 most common passwords could access close to 98 percent of all accounts.

Just last week in Lagos, Intel Semi Conductor West Africa in a media roundtable on its First Time Buyer Campaign across four major cities in Nigeria highlighted how it was playing in creating a safe and secured digital world.

Intel at the event told Technology Journalists how they were making mobile security free across devices and platforms around the globe. This, according to Intel, is the beginning of a journey to creating safe and secured digital world.

Speaking during the media chat, the Consumer Lead for East and West Africa, Intel Corporation, Olabanji Womiloju said that consumers and enterprise must stay connected and protected in the cyber space.

Through adequate education and awareness program, he said that Intel was committed in keeping cyber space safe. The recent acquisition of PasswordBox, he said has added convenient and secure digital identity solutions for consumers to Intel Portfolio.

As a result of this acquisition, he said that PasswordBox would become a part of the Safe Identity organization within Intel Security Group.

The safe identity organization, he added was committed to delivering solutions that reduce the pain of passwords, simplify and strengthen security, and provide consumers with easy access to their digital lives. According to him, Intel was committed to providing support and solutions that would help Nigerians remain safe while connected on the internet.

With millions of people connected online, he noted that it has become imperative to help consumers identify online threats that do more harm than good. While Intel looks for preventive measures to ensure cyber safety for all by combining the security expertise of McAfee , he said that the vision of creating safe and secure digital world is becoming a reality.

Earlier in his brief speech, the Country Marketing and PR Manger, Intel West Africa, Adim Isiakpona said that there has been massive internet security vulnerability.

Explaining Intel security, he said that Intel Security’s mission is to give everyone the confidence to live and work safely and securely in the digital world.

He said that Intel security is intensely focused on developing proactive, proven security solutions and services that protect systems, networks, and mobile devices for business and personal use around the world.
