ABUJA – THERE were strong indications yesterday that talks between President Goodluck Jonathan and the Mallam Adamu Ciroma-led Northern Political Leaders Forum, NPLF, may have ended in deadlock because some persons were alleged to have hidden the report of the seven-man committee set up after the February 18, 2011 meeting from the President, thereby making it impossible to see and act on it.
A source disclosed yesterday that as part of moves to heal the wounds, a new meeting has been scheduled between the President, his men and the Mallam Ciroma-led NPLF before the commencement of next month’s elections.
It was gathered yesterday that Jonathan was unable to take decisions on the burning issues between the President and the NPLF before and after the primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party because the President’s three-man delegation in the seven-man committee was alleged to have kept the report of the committee away from President Jonathan”.
