Ilorinâ€”After about twenty years of operating at the temporary site after its creation, the management of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa Kwara State, has concluded arrangements to move to its permanent site along Ojoku road within the next two months.
Chairman of the Polytechnic Committee on Movement to the Permanent Site, and Deputy Rector in charge of Administrative Matters, Pastor John Ayeni disclosed this in an interview with journalists.
According to him,Â “in less than two months from now, the Polytechnic permanent site would be alive to all manners of academic activities when staff and students of School of Business and Management Studies and School of General Studies should have been moved to the site.
He explained that gradual movement of staff and students of School of Business Management Studies and School of General Studies to the site would begin immediately after the ongoing second semester examinations.
Pastor Ayeni, assured that office accommodation, hostels and adequate facilities for learning had been provided for the first set of staff and students that would be moved to the site.
Aside the Federal Governmentâ€™s intervention funds, Ayeni added that corporate institutions, philanthropists, Education Trust Fund, ETF, the Petroleum Trust Development Fund, PTDF, and the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, NDIC, were among other sources for the funding of various projects at the permanent site.
He however sought the cooperation of members of the National Union of RoadÂ Transport Workers, NURTW, Offa Local Government chapter, on ways to make transportation to and fro the permanent site,Â at reasonable charges.
