The second term bid of Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State received yet another boost as communities in Sagbama Local Government Area of the state, council area have declared their support for him.

Although when Seriake Dickson chose him to be his running mate in 2012, retired Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah, OON, was regarded by many observers as being a political neophyte his performance as Deputy Governor over the last four years has proven the choice to have been highly appropriate. The accomplished Naval Engineer whose illustrious career in the military had seen him rise to become the Commandant of the National Defence College (Nigeria’s highly rated War College) in Abuja, before his voluntary retirement, has been a calm and steady lieutenant to the outspoken and sometimes volatile Governor who, though he is his junior in age, is certainly far more experienced than him in partisan politicking.

An Abuja High Court on Monday reserved judgment in a case filed by Mr Ahmed Gulak seeking to compel the National Working Committee of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to fill its chairmanship position.

ABUJA- Ahead of Saturday, December 5 Bayelsa State Governorship Election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP yesterday raised alarm that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has concluded arrangements to rig the poll through the use of cloned Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs and fake security agents.

The chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, Rivers State chapter, Felix Obuah, says he is disappointed about the continued show of disrespect for the law and breach of public peace by members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, led by Dakuku Peterside, Magnus Abe, Andrew Uchendu and other leaders of the party in the state.
