FG pledges priority to teachers’ education
THE Federal Government yesterday said it is ready to give priority to teachers’ education with a view to improving the quality of education in the country, even as the National Teachers Institute, NTI, has trained 13,302 teachers in Bauchi State in the last four years.

The Central Bank of Nigeria monetary policy committee yesterday raised its benchmark interest rate for the fifth time this year to 9.25 per cent, up from 8.75 per cent. Central Bank Governor, Lamido Sanusi, said the decision to further tighten monetary policy was to tackle future upward inflationary pressures, including high government spending and borrowing, implementation of a new minimum wage and likely removal of fuel subsidies.
AMCON to exit three nationalised banks by 2013
Asset Management Company of Nigeria, AMCON, yesterday, said it will exit its stake in the three recently acquired bridge banks in two years time, just as 21 firms have indicated interest to acquire stake in the banks.
