Review National Policy on Education to embrace computer learning, says Okebukola

While acknowledging the National Policy on Education (revised 2006) as an elegant document which makes prescriptions for the conduct of the business of education in Nigeria, it should be re-engineered to embrace comprehensive computer education and introduce Computer Assisted Learning (CAL) as much as possible in the basic and higher education systems, Professor Peter Okebukola, Chairman, Governing Council, Osun State University, Osogbo and immediate past Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC) has recommended.

Strike: SSANU, SSANIP, NASU vow to fight on

At a meeting of leaders of NASU in the 42 federal, state universities and inter-university centres, which held at the University of Lagos, leaders of NASU argued that besides the fact that the 20% salary award was discriminatory, lower than what was awarded to other category of workers in the system, it was not a product of negotiation, the issues at stake were more than salary but about the funding of the university system, about failing and decaying infrastructure among other things.

Westminster College, Buckingham Varsity forge academic partnership

Explaining the reasons for establishing the University Foundation year programme in Nigeria while receiving the representative of the University of Buckingham in Lagos, the Director/Proprietor of Westminster College, Chief Johnson M. Logistics and Transport Institute adopts common exams for students

These revelations came from the National Executive Director of CILT, Nigeria, Mr. Fracis Ehiquese last week at the Institute’s extra-ordinary general meeting. According to him, two examination diets will hold each year, adding that the training providers will set and forward examination questions to CILT, Nigeria for moderation which will, in turn, send it to international arm of the institute for final moderation.
