WHEN Muslims all over the world celebrate Eid-Fitr, next week, their counterparts in Daura, Katsina State, the birth place of President Muhammadu Buhari, will not be part of it.

BARELY a week after former President Olusegun Obasanjo accused the Federal Government of being lackadaisical about invasion and unprovoked attacks by herdsmen across the country, the Yoruba Council of Elders, YCE, has advised the Presidency to check the killing spree of the herders, especially in Yorubaland to prevent people from resorting to self-defence and anarchy.

THE Federal Government, yesterday, thumbed down former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s comments, weekend, that the Boko Haram insurgency has become an agenda to ‘Fulanise’ West Africa and Islamise Africa.

The Nigeria National  Bureau of Statistics (NBS), yesterday, said the nationfs Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which represents level of economic activities in the country, grew at 2.01 per cent in the first quaer(Q1’19), representing  0.38 percentage points decline when compared with the 2.38 per cent growth recorded in fourth quarter of last year (Q4’18).

SOME northern leaders, yesterday, gave former President Olusegun Obasanjo hard knocks over his comments that the Boko Haram insurgency was no longer about lack of jobs for youths but a full blown ‘Fulanisation’ of West Africa, Islamisation of Africa and global organised crimes.
