More than seven hundred days after Oluwarise Deborah Ebun, otherwise known as Debie Rise, a professional guitarist, computer science graduate and super dynamic dancer, was proclaimed First Runner Up of the Nigerian Idol Season 4, she returns to the same stage only this time, not as a contestant but as a guest performer for the Nigerian Idol Season 5.

Comedy is only a means to an end for me. It is a college of life that I am currently enrolled in and not necessarily the reason for going to the college. I graduated from the school of comedy into doing a talk show that is much applauded and celebrated. Teju Babyface has mainly music and interview content with a pint of comedy. I am not a comedian essentially.

The campaign is tagged “Poverty is Sexist”, meaning that women and girls are most seriously affected by poverty. And in order to eradicate extreme poverty, there is a serious need to promote women empowerment. ‘Poverty is Sexist’ was conceived to support the ‘Africa Union Year of Women Empowerment’.

I didn’t know anything about script writing. But as a child, I loved watching films. The stories I came across then were those I saw in books before films. I have always wanted to be part of that story telling world. In fact, I didn’t know there was a profession called script writing.
