The swearing-in of the erstwhile Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Bala James Ngilari as the new Governor of the State has in several ways changed the political climate in the State. It has also illuminated the vagaries and fragility of political weather.

Buoyed by the acceptance of his new found friends, Reckless said: “We all know the problem of British politics. People feel disconnected from Westminster. But disconnected is too mild a word. People feel ignored, taken for granted, overtaxed, over regulated, ripped off and lied to.”

The celebrated playwright declared, “In the process of our inquiries, we solicited the help of a foreign embassy whose government, we learnt, was actually on the same trail; thanks to its independent investigation into some money laundering that involved the Central Bank. That name, we confidently learnt, has also been passed on to President Jonathan. When he is ready to abandon his accommodating policy towards the implicated, even the criminalised…we shall gladly supply that name.”

We have once again just passed through the season when all the insufficiencies of our amenities are paraded for us to throw at the government of the day. For the past decade, or so, it has been the theme song on the occasion of our National Day celebrations as the routine answer in the consideration of how well we have fared as a nation in the preceding years.
