Beloved Christian: stop evaluating yourself after the flesh. For the man or woman of God, it no longer matters whether he or she is good looking or tall or smart or rich or poor. Those distinctions of the flesh are vain and of no importance whatsoever to God.

As we count down to Nigeria’s 2015 General Elections on March 28, so also is the world watching events unfold in the United Kingdom towards the May 7 elections. These two countries are linked in history. Nigeria, a former colony, governed and ruled by Her Majesty the Queen and a member of the Commonwealth.

It started with galore of scoldings for Miss Josephine Agwu, a mere airport cleaner who found forgotten $28,000 and other foreign currencies totaling about N12m and refunded it to the owner. Some called her dumb-ass, others referred to her as silly, especially as the owner of the money showed how not to appreciate goodness.

As we celebrate the International Women’s Day tomorrow, two incidents in the last two weeks gave me a wake-up call. First, I met a female politician who was denied her party’s ticket to the state House of Assembly because a veteran Politician, who is an octogenarian and a lead actor in the second republic, does not deem a woman fit to represent the constituency. According to the lady, the baba told her in clear terms that a woman cannot represent his constituency and that included his daughters.

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about the factors that would likely inhibit General Muhammadu Buhari from occupying Aso Rock in June. The reaction I got surprised me. People I had not heard from in a long while called to register their views.
