THE management of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency has sacked twenty-two workers in the organization who the management claimed were employed without following due process, an action that is at variance with rule of law policy of the President Umoru Yar’Adua’s administration.

SOME members of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) have gone to court to stop the chapter elections of the association being midwife by Alhaji Inua Mohammed led Association Electoral Commission (ASECO).

THE management of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency NIMASA, has sacked twenty-two workers in the agency who the management claimed were employed without following due process, an action that is at variance with rule of law policy of the President Umoru Yar’Adua’s administration.The Board it was learnt at its meeting of 29th July 2009 reviewed the recruitment exercise of the concerned staffers which did not follow laid down procedures and consequently cancelled the recruitment exercise of the 22 officers.

The 536 personnel trained by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) at its Technical Training Centre between 2003 and 2007 Monday stormed the Marina headquarters of the authority demanding that management should absorb them in line with the agreement reached with NPA before they were admitted for the programme.
