Heartland FC Coach, Samson Siasia and his boys spent time working in the gym on Friday morning at Cairo’s Le Meridien Holiopolis, in a last ditch effort by the Nigerian side to confirm fitness level before Sunday’s game against Al Ahly of Egypt.
The CAF Champions League Group B, second leg game will come up by 6pm Nigerian time at the Cairo International Stadium.Finalists in 2009 edition, Heartland arrived Cairo on Thursday evening to a calm and cautious reception offered by the hosts but still very up-beat about their chances in the game.
Heartland’s Media Officer, Cajetan Nkwopara said although,they trail Ahly by one point, there was still a “Fifty-fifty chance’ to progress in the competition.
Any one of the contending three teams in Group B (Heartland, Ahly and Ismaily of Egypt) can still qualifier alongside Algerian side, JS Kabylie who already top the group with 10 points but that will depend so much on the result of Sunday’s game.
