Determined to ensure that the country is not globally ruined in next month’s Commonwealth Games in India, the National Sports Commission, NSC has subjected all athletes to thorough laboratory screening.
Chief Patrick Ekeji, the director_general of the NSC said he would not want a situation where athletes hitherto relied upon to haul medals at the games fail dope test.
“In order to avoid the pitfalls associated with performance enhancing drugs, dope tests were conducted for all athletes concerned with the Games”, Chief Patrick Ekeji said as he expressed that the athletes would embark on training tour of China for the games.
He pointed out that to ensure a flawless training tour exercise, “officers of the Commission were dispatched to Cuba, Bulgaria and China to scout for suitable training camps for the last preparations towards the Games.
“At the end of this exercise, the Commission settled for the Haigeng Physical Training Base in Kunming, China”, he said.
He also added that China that won the recent Olympics was because of her participation in multi games and facilities were abundantly available to train for all sports.
