Bayelsa House, groups in talks over BEITI Bill

Yenagoa—Members of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly led by the Speaker, Mr Nestor Binabo, have met with civil society groups in the state on the need for the accelerated passage of the Bayelsa State Expenditure and Income Transparency Initiative, BEITI, bill, saying that it will reduce conflict in the management of the state’s resources.

The meeting between the House of Assembly members and civil society groups was held under the auspices of Advocacy and Sensitization Workshop for State Legislators and Stakeholders in Port Harcourt, Rivers State and sponsored by the United Nations Office on Drugs Crime, the Revenue Watch and the State Due Process and e-Governance Bureau.
