Governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kogi State, Ambassador Yusuf Abubakar, yesterday, vowed to end the age-long crisis that has ravaged the state.

Speaking to journalists at the Murtala Mohammed Airport shortly after his arrival from a reception organised by the Ebira community in Lagos, Ambassador Abubakar said the crisis had led to little or no development in the state.

He said: “From 1999 till date, the state, especially Kogi Central, has been engulfed in crisis being fueled by some unscrupulous politicians in the state.

“The end of one crisis always leads to a bigger crisis and the state has spent so much resources, time, money and energy trying to combat the crisis in Kogi Central to no avail.”

He said the crisis in the state has also created unemployment for the teeming number of youths as it has also disrupted the educational system in the state.

Abubakar noted that the evils perpetuated by greedy politicians were responsible for the unending crisis in the area.

To address this ugly trend, he said, he would introduce a school-to-land programme to engage all the youths in the state when elected into office next year.

He assured that with his knowledge and understanding of Kogi State, that the crisis would be absolutely
tackled from the grassroots .

The Kogi State governorship aspirant said that the era of youths being sent out of school would be a thing of the past as soon as he was voted into office as the governor of the state. Ambassador Abubakar also noted that school fees would never be an hindrance to their quest for knowledge.

He further assured that during his tenure that the state would be transformed into an enviable one as all aspect of lives would be touched by his administration.

“We intend to have a Blue Print that covers all aspect of lives and we will use it as the vehicle to run the conduct of affairs of the state” He declared.

As part of effort to ensure better opportunity for women in the state, Ambassador. Abubakar said that women would form part of all segments of his administration as he was aware of the plight of women in the state.
