UGHELLI—DEATH toll in the violent clash between two suspected rival secret cult groups in Ozoro, Delta State, Monday night has risen to seven.

The suspected secret cult groups have been at war since last Sunday. At least four persons were reportedly killed, Monday morning.

A reliable source told Vanguard that a curfew between 7pm to 6am had been placed in the hitherto peaceful community, adding that the services of hunters had been engaged to chase the suspected cultists away from the community.

The source said the suspected cultists engaged the hunters in a gun battle, and were over powered, before they fled the community Monday night.

Disclosing that several persons who sustained bullet injuries were receiving treatment in hospitals, the source, who pleaded anonymity, said residents of the area have been warned to remain indoors as from 7pm.

He said residents were also warned against running generating sets as from 7pm.
According to the source, mobile police officers and members of the Military Joint Task Force were also drafted to the community to the keep peace.
