SUPER Eagles skipper, Joseph Yobo has asked for patience from Nigerians as the team begin its rebuilding process after the World cup debacle in South Africa .

Yobo captained the Eagles to a 2-0 win over Madagascar in the 2012 Nations Cup qualifier at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar on Sunday.

Despite the two goals scored by Obafemi Martins and Michael Eneramo, many Nigerians felt disappointed with the catalogue of chances squandered by the players against their relatively known opponents. Apparently aware of the feelings of Nigerians, Yobo appealed that the Eagles would get better with time.

“The important thing is that we won and got all the full points. With time, we will get to play better. Most of us are coming back to play as one unit and also with the home-based players. It will get better with time”, Yobo who has moved from Everton to Fernebache of Turkey said. Yobo was not alone in appealing to Nigerians.

Chelsea midfielder, John Mikel Obi also asked for time from the fans before they could get their dream national team back.

Yobo who made a come-back to the national team after injury rocked his World Cup dream of playing in South Africa begged for understanding.

“The season has just begun in our clubs and many of us are still finding our bearing. Besides, the pitch was terrible and it disorganised our movement and passes”, Yobo said.

“We’re going to get better with time”, the Chelsea star who sustained an injury before being substituted said. “The injury is not bad. I called to be substituted in order not to aggravate it”, he explained.
