Investment value on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) nose dived ,Tuesday day, as equities value represented by the market capitalisation dropped by N115.69 billion.
In particular, the capitalisation dipped by 1.89 per cent to close at N5.99 trillion from N6.108 trillion at which it opened.
Another key performance indices the All share index shed 1.89 per cent, dipped by 473.04 bases points to close at 24,503.61 points from 24,976.65 points at which it opened.
Conoil Plc led 56 other stocks on the losers table dropping by N2.00 to close at N45.00 per share, PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc followed with a loss of N1.64 to close at N36.50 per share and Benue Cement Company Plc shed N1.50 to close at N63.50 per share.
Other share price losers include: Cadbury Nigeria Plc N1.44, Flour Mills Nigeria Plc N1.07, Lafarge Cement WAPCO Plc N1.00, Oando Plc N0.99, Dangote Flour Mills Plc N0.91, UAC Nigeria Plc N0.90, UAC-Property Development Company Plc N0.88, among others.
On the other hand, Guinness Nigeria Plc led 15 other stocks on the gainers table rising by N2.12 to close at N167.12, Nigeria Bottling Company Plc followed with a gain of N1.84 to close at N38.64 per share and African Petroleum Plc garnered N1.11 to close at N23.36 per share.
Other share price gainers include: Julius Berger Nigeria Plc N0.50, Longman Nigeria Plc N0.30, Ashaka Cement Plc N0.29, Union Bank Nigeria Plc N0.05, Spring Bank Plc N0.04, First Aluminium Nigeria Plc N0.03, Crusader Nigeria Plc N0.02, among others.
Despite the down-slide on price indices, trading appreciated by 21.99 per cent, as a turnover of 304.10 million shares valued at N2.63 billion was recorded in 6,844 deals, compared to the previous day’s turnover of 249.27 million shares valued at N1.66 billion in 5,680 deals.
The Banking sub-sector was the most active on the sectorial analysis accounting for 52.21 per cent of the market turnover with 158.78 million shares valued at N1.27 million in 3,837 deals. Zenith Bank Plc recorded the most patronage in the sub-sector trading 25.78 million shares valued at N346.07 million in 541 deals, Fidelity Bank Plc followed with the exchange of 23.45 million shares valued at N60.01 million in 159 deals and First Bank of Nigeria Plc recorded 17.08 million shares valued at N211.61 million in 835 deals.
The Automobile and Tyre sub-sector followed on the sectorial analysis accounting for 19.72 per cent of the market turnover with 59.96 million shares valued at N225.38 million in 34 deals. RT Briscoe Plc boosted activity in the sub-sector trading 59.84 million shares valued at N225.32 million in 20 deals, DN Tyre and Rubber Plc recorded 120,065 million shares valued at N60,032.50 in 14 deals.
