INFORMATION and Communications minister, Professor Dora Akunyili, has described Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State as the most outstanding state chief executive in the country who has demystified public office with humility and integrity, saying that he has become a model for the on-going rebranding project in the country.
Speaking in Awka when she launched the rebranding project, Akunyili said that if other chief executives approach governance the way Obi does, there would not have been any need for the re- branding campaign.
According to her, Obi’s practical approach to governance, punctuated with honesty and good intentions, was the best re-branding that Nigeria needed and wished that other leaders in the country emulate him. Â
Meanwhile, Obi, leading a delegation of his cabinet and permanent secretaries, weekend, visited the Songhai Agricultural Institute in Porto-Novo, Benin Republic.
The centre, reputed for its efficient integrated farming across the world, was established by a Nigerian. The director of the institute, Rev Fr. Godfrey Nzamujo, said that he was compelled to invite the governor to visit the institute and see what they were doing because of his commitment to governance, especially his interest in promoting the rebirth of agriculture in his state.
