Ex-militants leaders demand General’s honour

Ex-militants Generals of MEND Forum (EGMF) under the leadership of Government Ekpemukpolo (alias Tompolo) has called on the Federal Government to treat them as generals of the Niger Delta struggle and not mere ex-militants.

EGMF in a statement signed by Josiah Oyakonghan (alias Oyimi one), President; Peremor Ekpesegba (alias Cross), Secretary; Peter Ekpebide (alias Fire Burn), Thompson Igere, Stephen Julius, Dennis Kpadia and 25 others, also called on the Federal Government to upgrade Tompolo as the General Overseer of ex-militant generals.

They demanded to be addressed as Camp Generals as they were part of those that constituted MEND.
The statement explained that some persons that are been addressed as Camp Generals were not freedom fighters but mere hostage-takers that embraced the Federal Government’s amnesty.

They held that they want equal benefit as those who have being receiving bogus packages due to their being addressed as Camp Generals since they (EGMF) are the true freedom fighters.

According to the statement, “whatever we are enjoying today we worked for. We do not want anything that will make us to return to the creeks.

“So Mr. President should look into our request and find a lasting solution to it.”
