Youth leader lauds Uduaghan on DESOPADEC appointments

By Festus Ahon
UGHELLI — CHAIRMAN, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Delta State Chapter, Mr.  Hope George, has commended the Delta State Governor,  Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, for appointing technocrats into the interim board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC.

George, who gave the commendation while fielding questions from newsmen, expressed hope that the interim committee will run the affairs of the Commission to the admiration of all and sundry.

Noting that the membership of the interim board was carefully selected by Governor Uduaghan, he charged the members to sustain the tempo of development in the oil bearing communities by the erstwhile board.

Speaking further, George said the agency had championed a new phase of infrastructural development in the history of oil producing communities in the state.

Enjoining members of the committee not to betray the confidence reposed on them, he tasked staff of the Commission to cooperate with the committee in their effort to reposition the Commission for better service delivery.

According to him, with the successful inauguration of the Committee headed by a Permanent Secretary in the state Ministry of Finance, Mr. Reginald Bayoko, “the task now is to articulate plans on how to effectively initiate and execute projects that will impact positively on the lives of the people of the communities as an interventionist agency.”
