Former Junior International Nduka Ugbade believes there is need for an  expansion of the Super Four play-off to accommodate more clubs.

Ugbade argues that since the Super Four is another avenue for teams to book a ticket to represent Nigeria at continental competitions, more teams should be given the opportunity as well.

“I believe  rather than the usual four clubs in the competition, more clubs need to be accommodated to avail them the opportunity of representing the country in continental competition.

“The Super Four competition is still old fashion. For me I think it should be thrown open to many clubs and not only four teams. It should be expanded to bring in more teams so that they can improve the  competition. That is how is it done  in other countries.

When asked about the standard of the league, Ugbade said the league has not  reached any appreciable standard. According to him, the league is till backward and still need improvement in all angles to be like other leagues in the world.

“As far as I’m concerned, the league is nothing to write home about. A lot needs to be corrected and put right. I want our league to be like that of Germany, England and other European leagues,” he said.
