PORT HARCOURT: A Magistrate Court sitting in Port Harcourt has remanded one Hillary Iwezor over his alleged role in the disappearance of his landlord, Mr. Emmanuel Feke.

Iwezor is standing trail on three separate counts of attempted murder, willful and malicious damage and falsification of house documents to fraudulently claim the residence of the missing Feke at No. 54 Wokoma street, mile 3, Diobu, Port Harcourt, River State.

He is also facing charge of murder attempt on Isaac Numuopiede (M) and Moses Numuopiede (M) younger brothers of the missing Emmanuel Feke.

The charges are punishable in Section 320 and 451 of the Criminal Code, Cap 37. Vol. II Law of Rivers State of Nigeria 1999.

It was gathered that sometime in 2001 Feke disappeared to unknown destination and that 14 years later, Hillary allegedly brought some documents to claim Feke’s (his landlord’s) house.

However, at the court on Wednesday the presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Linus Baridam, Esq declined hearing the bail application brought by the defence counsel, Mr. S. Kwokwo.

Baridam said it was not within the jurisdiction of the magistrate court to grant bail to murder related cases.

The magistrate asked the defense counsel to file the bail at the high court and ordered that the record of proceedings be forwarded to Department of Public Prosecution, DPP, for further advise and adjourned till 20th February, 2018.
