Group applauds appointment of new speaker

Ndokwa youths  have joined their counter part in Ika nation, to commend Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan and members of the state legislature for retaining the zoning of the speakership of the State House of Assembly to the Ika Federal constituency.

National leaders of the Ndokwa Youths, Mr Friday Osanebi, also  a  member of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ndokwa East, in his reaction to the election of Mr. Prince  Obi, as the new Speaker of the state legislature, thanked the state Governor and lawmakers for demonstrating what he described as equitable and people’s oriented governance in the state.

He added that the appointment of an Ndokwa daughter, Dr. Mrs Beatrice Omeni as the Secretary to the State Government and the election of Speaker of the State House of Assembly, were clear indications that the present government was in support of gender equality and free from tribal and ethnic discrimination.

Osanebi requested indigenes of Ika Federal constituency, and the entire Deltans to rally round Mr Obi to enable him succeed and also support the new Speaker, the state legislature and the administration of Governor Uduaghan in promoting peaceful atmosphere for progressive laws making and meaningful governance, which will usher in good dividends of democracy and ensure adequate development of the state.
