Fear of gas leakage in Delta, Edo communities

There was panic in Ologbo community in Edo State and Ovade in Ethiope West Local Government Council of Delta State as the Pan Ocean gas pipeline which passes through their community started experiencing leakages in the early hours of yesterday.

Sunday Vanguard gathered that the leakage allegedly triggered by vandalisation had still not been brought under control nine hours after.

Specifically, the leak was said to have started around 5 a.m. while staff of Pan Ocean working on the leak appeared helpless.

Edo State commissioner for Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Don Omorodion, who visited the site of the incident, was reported to have engaged in hot verbal exchange with the Pan Ocean staff on ground as to why the situation had not been brought under control nine hours after the leak.
