UGHELLI—ARMED robbers, yesterday, went on rampage in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, killing a Police Corporal attached to the Ozoro Police Division.
The robbery gang, which has been terrorising the Ozoro community and rapping women, it was gathered, left two other Police officers with serious bullet injuries.

It was learnt that five Police officers on patrol stormed a robbery scene at Oramude,  after receiving a distress call that robbers were operating in that part of the town at about 2a.m.

Lady cop killed

According to a reliable source, the Police officer,  who was identified as Ify was killed during a shoot-out between the police and the robbers.

The source said the robbers opened fire on the Police team from their hideout.

A Police source, who pleaded anonymity, lamented that the Corporal died on the spot, adding that the deceased was married to a Police Corporal with two kids.

Speaking further, the senior Police officer decried the increase in crime rate in the area and stressed the readiness of the Police to bring the criminals to book.
