Delta North APC chieftains advise party against zoning

The duo of Chief George Okafor, Chairman of All the Progressives Congress, APC, Delta North Senatorial District and Chief Vincent Abanum, running mate to APC governorship candidate in 2015, Olorogun Otega Emerhor, have advised against the idea of zoning the party’s governorship ticket to the senatorial district.

According to them what the party should be interested in is somebody who can win the election first for the party, and take over the rein of governance in the state rather than zoning.

They made this known during the consultation visits of the APC governorship hopeful, Chief Osiobe Okotie to Delta North Senatorial District, at Obiaruku, Ndokwa West   Local Government Area.

The Delta North chairman of APC, Chief Okafor, stated that zoning is wrong in every ramification and that   if the ticket is zoned to Delta North, the party may fail since the other senatorial districts will feel short-changed and not participate since they have nothing at stake.

On his part,Chief Abanum, called for the   principle of zoning to be jettisoned, saying such can only work if the party is already in government, in order not to short change any senatorial district in future.

Chief Okotie, expressed happiness for the warm reception accorded him and vowed to win the 2019 Delta State governorship election,   if allowed to be the party’s torch bearer.
