The Major Oil marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN), has said that the approval for fuel import, granted the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and major oil marketers by petroleum product pricing regulatory agency (PPPRA) to bring it petroleum products into the country would sustain supply to prevent any form of scarcity.

The executive secretary of MOMAN, Obafemi Olawore,  told Sunday Vanguard, that the approval for petrol import was given for the third quarter of the year to NNPC, major oil marketers as well as other importers operating in the country, with the view to ensuring that petroleum products are brought into the country to boost the supply chain. He added, “it is true that PPPRA has granted approval for fuel import for the third quarter.

The initiative is to ensure that NNPC and major oil marketers bring it the product to ensure continuity in supply to meet the market demand of fuel consumption in the country. This is a welcome development because it would enable the marketers to bring it the product on time”.

He stressed, “it is a good thing that the approval has been granted by PPPRA and our members are continuing product importation, which means there would no room for scarcity, capable of crippling economic activities in the country.”
