LAGOS—Directors in from various ministries in Lagos State Public Service were told by the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, yesterday. that policy analysis is different from decision making, saying policy analysts and planners render advice to their principles, but do not make decision for  them.

Ambode spoke to the directors at a two-day workshop organised by the Ministry of Establishments, Training and Pensions, tagged: Policy analysis, development and implementation for policy analysts and developes in the Lagos State Public Service .

The governor, who was represented by the Commissioner of State Ministry of Establishments, Training and Pensions, Dr. Akintola Oke,  said: “The policy making and implementation function in governance is vitally important because governments are repeatedly confronted with problems that call for apt and appropriate solutions.

“In the times we live in, these problems have taken on complex characteristics and features, they usually demand urgent attention and response.”

The Commissioner told the participants at the training that it is only personal and professional attributes required to be an effective policy analyst.
