ENUGU—The South East zone of Ibrahim Babangida Democratic Coalition has been inaugurated in Enugu.
The inauguration, which attracted a large crowd, was presided over by the Zonal Coordinator, South East of the coalition, Mr. Peter C. J Anigbogu, and Secretary, Mr. Chukwujama.
In his speech, the Zonal Coordinator noted that Ibrahim Babangida, with his wealth of experience, was the kind of president Nigeria needed in the forthcoming 2011 election .
He advised foremost Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark, who had been in the forefront of those showing bias towards IBB to dwell more on issues and allow the electorate to decide who should lead this great nation out of the present insecurity, kidnapping, poor power generation, amongst many challenges, confronting the nation at present.
Anigbogu further implored the elder statesman to stop heating up the polity, as who will eventually lead the country will be determined through the ballot box.
He noted that there was no need to fan the embers of sentiments in order to prove a point, as Nigeria today needed an experienced hand to take her out of the her present state.
