Former Nigerian international and coach of Heartland Football Club of Owerri Samson Siasia has called for credible Nigerians to get on the board of Nigeria Football Association (NFA) when the board is elected come August 24.
Reflecting on the rots that led to the impeachment of the last board, Coach Siasia said he would like to see people with genuine interest of the sport at heart and not people who will focus on personal interests.
He said, “I am not in a position to say I want this or that person to be on the board of NFF, but for all that I know, there must be a lot changes.
We have to put the right people who will help us develop our football and not people who will go there for their personal gains. We need people who have money and not those that will go there to loot. That is the biggest problem we had in our sports.
“We just have to develop this game because we love it. And having seen what have happened in the last couple of years, what was going on in the NFF, then we have to take our time to assess people who are going in there to know what they are going there for.
