After more than four years of inability of the Federal Government Colleges and Unity Schools in the 36 states of the federation to admit new set of students to the junior secondary schools [JSS] class, the Federal government has finally directed the authorities of the affected schools to commence the process of admission of students to JSS classes in the 2010 and 2011 academic session
Dropping this hint yesterday while speaking with the newsmen at lkole Ekiti was the principal of the Federal Government College, Ikole Ekiti, Dr Akinjide Akinyemi during the annual speech day and prize-giving ceremony of the college
Akinyemi said federal government has directed the National Examnination Council [NECO] to place an advert for the admission of the new students.
The college principal noted that before the gradual phasing out of JSS classes during the regime of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo that the population of students stood at about 2,500, noting that the population has reduced to about 600 presently
