A special prayer was yesterday held for the kidnapped journalists shortly after the jumaat service at Vanguard Mosque, headquarters of Vanguard Media Limited, Lagos. 

The chief Imam of the mosque, Imam Haroon AbdulRazak who led the special prayer prayed for the safety and quick release of the journalists while also using the occasion to pray for all others  currently under  hostage by kidnappers in the country.

The chief Missioner of Fathi-ul Qareeb Society of Nigeria Alhaji Abdul Rahman Adamgba who joined the chapel in the special prayer described the kidnap of journalists as a dangerous trend in the country saying it is time that Nigerians must come together to nip the dangerous trend in the bud.

“They have been kidnapping people in this country, I believe it is time that all hands must be on deck to stop the phenomenon.” he said.

Alhaji Adangba led another round of prayers for the families of the journalists and others in similar situation.

Present at the prayers were the chapel chairman, Mr. Babatunde Jimoh, Mr Dada Adekola, (Cartoon editor), Ishola Balogun amongst other Muslims in the chapel.
