Having assessed the 2009/2010 Globacom Premier League which ended last week,  former coach of Heartland of Owerri FC, Benedict Iroha has advised the new league board led by Davison Owumi to take into consideration problems affecting the smooth running of  the league in order   to ensure  a good organization come next season.

Iroha, a member of the 1994 Nations Cup winning squad, said  the league needs  proper sanity in the area of security.  He stressed on the need for players security especially at away matches.

According to him, visiting players  always have problems after defeating their host. He urged the new board to ensure that such problems are nipped in the bud next season. The former Super Eagles defender added that players welfare should also  be considered in order for them to do well in the field of play.

“The league still need some improvement. The improvement I mean is that of teams winning on away ground without  problem. It is a common knowledge here that players are attacked after winning an away game, unlike in Europe, where teams pick up away wins and nobody attacks them.

“Talking about security, this is what the new board should look into.“The referees also should be able to operate without fear. Lastly, players have to earn more money. The more money they earn, the more they play well,” he concluded.
