A group, the Concerned Citizens of Bayelsa, yesterday sent a letter to the Bayelsa State governor, Mr. Seriake Dickson and past governors of the state on the need to give proper account of monies which accrued to the state and the  level of development under their administrations.

The letter by the group, which included the two acting governors, Mr. Wenipre Seibarugu and Mr. Nestor Binabo, warned that the group has compiled list of funds that accrued under each administration from Ecological fund, 13 per cent deriavation, the federal allocations, loans and bonds, deductions and others and warned that the reply from the incumbent and past governors will form part of a final report.

The latter, which was made public in Yenagoa, confirmed that the members of the group cut across the eight local government areas of the state, as well as Lagos and Abuja.

The coordinator of the group, Chief Perekem Kpodo, in a statement, said though each administration including those of Chief Timipre Sylva, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and Gov. Seriake Dickson, claimed to have invested huge amount in infrastructural development, “the state is still wearing a village look.”

Kpodoh, who commended the recent Education, health and road project achievements made under the Governor Seriake Dickson, said the few achievments of th present and past Governors is not commeserable to monies and loans accrue under each administration. W demand to know why the state is like this inspite of massive funds recieved by the state.”

“After years of alleged spending, the state is still under develop unlike most states of the Federation. The few development project sited are unevely distributed. As a team,we are compiling the data on each administration and monies recieved. Their policies, development projects, spendings and loans. Let us compare and contrast.”

“As we approach another election, some persons ar making claims and we want to demand explanation. Enough is enough. We want answers .We want answers and explanation to spending of oil wind falls and bail out funds to the State.”

“ The group is considering a sensitization rally in the state in order to compel compliance with demanded transparency and ensure that those found wanting are brought to book with notification filed before the anti-graft commission.”
