AWKA— Anambra State branch of the Civil Liberties Organization,CLO, has called for a total overhaul of the security system in Anambra State, if the battle against kidnapping and other crimes were to be won.

State chairman of CLO, Mr. Aloysius Attah, in a statement addressed to Governor Peter Obi and copied the commissioner of police and the speaker of the State House of Assembly, among others, said the call became necessary because the security operatives in the state appeared not to have an answer to the increasing menace of kidnapping and armed robbery in the state.

“It is on record that it was your special appeal and intervention, coupled with the efforts of various competent human rights groups to the presidency and Force headquarters that produced the effect of drafting Mr. Philemon Leha to Anambra State as the commissioner of police in the heat of violent crimes that ravaged the state last year.”

“Today, CP Leha is like a lone ranger among wolves as several policemen under his command are allegedly working at cross purposes with his policing style.
