Oshiomhole to lead others on visit to Jonathan

BENIN—GOVERNOR Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State will tomorrow,  lead a 30-man delegation of the elders and leaders, including the former Chief of General Staff, Admiral Mike Akhigbe, former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih, Chairman of Arik Air, Chief Johnson Arumene, on a courtesy visit to President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja.

Other leaders in the delegation included the first civilian Governor of the state, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, former Governor Lucky Igbinedion among other Edo prominent citizens former Foreign Affairs Minister, Chief Tom Ikimi, Chief Judge of the state, Justice Cromwel Idahosa, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Bright Omokhodion, leader of the Federal House of Representatives, Tunde Akogun, Senators Yisa Braimoh, Odion Ugbesia and Ehigie Uzamere.
Chairman of the Dr Samuel Ogbemudia led PDP, Elder Sunny Uyigue is also on the delegation.

Others that also made the list are two Action Congress members in the House of Representatives, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Mr Charles Idahosa,Messrs Patrick Obahiagbon and Samson Osagie.

The composition of the list is creating fresh tension in the politics of the state as it is being rumoured that Chief Anenih may shun the meeting with the President due to the exclusion of most of his loyalists in the state PDP,  which he felt ought to be on the list.

However, Governor Oshiomhole,  who is  to lead the delegation seems unperturbed with the composition as the list, which has been described as “the final list”, is made up of personalities who have excelled in all facets of life.

Vanguard learnt that the delegation would discuss issues such as the oil wells belonging to the state that were ceded to Delta State, the erosion and flood problem in the state and other national issues.
