NIMN pencils down Ogwo, Alatise for Icon awards

The National Institute of Mar keting of Nigeria (NIMN) said it will formally confer on Prof. Ogwo .E. Ogwo and Otunba, former Vice Chancellor of the Abia State University, Uturu and  S.O. Alatise with  the status of Icon of Marketing Awards come July 15, 2010.

The conferment the institute said was as a result of their iconic stature, achievement, and contribution to the marketing profession and the society at large.

Chief Luggard Aimiuwu, President and Council Chairman, NIMN, addressing a press conference he tagged; The triumph of value said the institute  among other things will be celebrating the contributions of Niyi Yusuf, Mrs. T. Oreagba, Duro Lakanu, Kole Adeniyi-Williams, Olu Ige and Mrs. N. Enechukwu will be honoured as Life Members to the marketing profession with.

While also Mr. Larry Etta, Group Managing Director, UACN, Tunji Oyebanji, Chairman/ Managing Director, Mobil Oil and Mrs. Iquo Uko of Nestle Nigeria with the Achievers award.

Aimiuwu further to say that the Institute will at the ceremony be elevating deserving members of the institute to the status of Fellow.

Speaking, the NIMN President said that since “value attracts value, and rubbish attracts rubbish. As the engine room of value creation, committed to the positioning of marketing profession as a living profession and lubricating the advancement of human civilization, the institute is committed to the triumph of value, he argued.

According to him, “considering Nigeria’s unenviable past record of unmitigated under-performance and under-achievement, few were prepared to share with us the optimism we showed right from inception of this council that NIGERIA CAN .”

So, for this reason, Aimiuwu noted that the awards are being conferred on the awardees for their contribution to the marketing profession.
