The Police Service Commission yesterday announced the promotion of 40 Police officers including eight Deputy Commissioners of Police who were made substantive Commissioners, 10 Assistant Commissioners of Police who are now DCP’s and 22 CSP’s who are now Assistant Commissioners of Police.

The CP’s are Mr. Felix Osita Uyanna, Commissioner of Police in charge MOPOL, Mr. Adenrele Tasheed Shinaba, Commissioner of Police in charge, Anti-Terrorist Squad, Mr. Abdulraham Olajide Akano, Mr. David O. Omojala, Mr. A.J. Abakasanga, Jubril Olawale Adeniji, Abdullahi Magaji and Ibrahim M. Maishanu.

The new Deputy Commissioners of Police are. Mr. Aja Igwe Nwankwo                                    (Promoted Posthumously), Mr. Thomas O. Etomi, Mr. Augustine O. Evbarhabokun, Mr. Esosa A.M. Amadasun, Mr. Idoighiran Omo-Bare, and Mr. Oyewole Oloyede.

Also promoted Deputy Commissioner of Police is Mr. Stephen Otitiju, Mr. James Ogbonna, Mr. Caroline D. Adelayo and Mr.     Edmon D. Dumbiri.

The Assistant Commissioners of Police are Cletus Ezerebo, Abdul Wada, Musa Ibrahim, Gabriel Haruna,   Patrick Emeka Ezeani, Henry Mariere Idioda, Doctor R. Idogho, Charles Obiajulu-Chima, Agbolagade Adedokun and Paul Ezeribe.

Others are Mr. Gideon Akinsola, Mr. Henry Nwadei, Emmanuel Omojuwa Okoroloko, Joshua Oyewole, Emmanuel Wokeh Amadi, Joseph Agogoesi, Lawrence Onwuka, Micheal Osho, Amos Marcus Omuiyadun, Micheal Vigara, Anthony Emonyuya Okpara and Adetunji Owolabi.

Noting that all the promotions are to take effect from the 7th of July, 2010, except for that of Mr. Cletus O.C. Ezerebo, which was back-dated to the 6th of April, 2010, the statement said the eight Deputy Commissioners of Police were earlier interviewed by the Police Service Commission before they were promoted to the new ranks.

It added that the ten Assistant Commissioners of Police also fulfilled all conditions set out by the Police Service Commission before their elevated to the rank of Deputy Commissioners of Police.
