WARRI — THE member representing the Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representative, Mr  Daniel Reyenieju, has faulted Nigeria’s version of federalism, saying that the system does not give room for equal growth and development of the regions in the country.

Mr  Reyenieju made the observation in Warri, at a reception held in his honour by the Warri Federal Constituency Women.

Said he,  “my take on the development of the country is that we must not be cheated. What belong to us must come to us. But unfortunately, the kind of nation that we find ourselves in, the kind of federalism that we practice do not give room for equal growth and development of the country.

For example, your Governor knows that this road is bad and he wants to do it because he knows that it is Deltans to pass through it, but he has to go to Abuja to take permission. Maybe in the next one year,  he will not get the permission.”

He also called on Deltans to elect those who are fighting for the development of the state rather than those who are only interested in their selfish interests.

According to him, “Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan is a Governor that is interested in the welfare of the people because all the projects he has embarked upon are people oriented project.” He asked the people to look out for people like the Govern, when it comes to choosing their leaders.

He encouraged the people, especially the women to always take advantage of the micro credit scheme and other programmes that the Governor had put in place for the people, urging the women in constituency to utilize the health facilities being provided by the state government.

He appealed to the public that whenever anybody is trying to execute noble projects, that they should always get across to the government agencies and find out the situation of the land and everything about it, so that they do not cross the part of government.

“I  appeal to us to always find out and investigate thoroughly the situation of things before we go on purchasing any property”.

The federal lawmaker advised those trying to make trouble anytime government wants to develop their place to be reasonable, since the projects are people oriented and for the benefit of everybody.
