ONITSHA—Thirty- One Liaison officers in Anambra state yesterday demanded the payment of N93.6m being the arrears of salaries, furniture allowances and severance allowace owed them for 28 months by the governor Willie Obiano government.

Spokesman for the group, Mr Chinedu Ukachukwu said.they were thrown out of office without any letter indicating that they were either sacked or suspened from office.

According to them the governor had promised them official vehicles which never came their way till date.

He said the governor had promised to pay them N800,000 out of the money owed them four months ago which also had not come their way.

“We believe that the reason why the governor is victimising us is because we the liaison officers have always told the governor the truth about governance while some of his aides including the special adviser to the governor on political matters, Mr Chinedu Obidigwe deceive him by not telling him the truth about the real happening at the grass root”

The group threatened to withdraw their support for Obiano in the forthcoming November 18 governorship election in Anambra state if they were not paid their entitlement before the poll.
