WIFE of the Ondo State governor, Betty Ayanwu Akeredolu, has given out one hundred tablets to secondary school girls after the completion of one month training programme on Information Communication and Technology (ICT).

The beneficiaries were picked from 23 secondary schools in Akure, the state capital.
They got the tablets, loaded with JAMB questions, school curriculum, WAEC syllabus among others to encourage them to continue with the training at home.
The girls were equally given certificates at the graduation ceremony held at the Public Service Training Institute, Ilara-Mokin.
Speaking at the event, Mrs Akeredolu expressed hope that the digitally empowered girls are going to use the knowledge they have acquired to become key players in the global space.
“I don’t just want to bridge the gender gap; I want these girls to be a part of the solution to our societal problem.
She acknowledge the place of ICT coupled with solar energy technology to help in development as virtual classroom all over the nation most especially in the remotest villages.
Two of the beneficiaries, Ayomiposi Christopher and Bukola Ayodele from St. Dominic’s High School and St. Francis High School, Akure respectively thanked the First Lady for impacting on their lives for which they will forever be grateful.
