TRADE Union of Nigeria, TUC, has called for a panel of enquiry to carry out a thorough and efficient investigation into allegations of corruption regarding the spending of about N9billion by the leadership of the House of Representatives, between 2009 and 2010, on cars and miscellaneous items; and to bring to justice suspected perpetrators and recover the stolen public funds.

This came even as the body  urged President Jonathan to ensure that the Economic and financial Crime commission EFCC, and Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, conduct a through investigation into the causes of the crisis rocking the House of Representatives, especially allegations N9 billion car scam among others and that nothing is swept under the carpet.

TUC in a statement yesterday by its President-General and Secretary-General, Comrade Peter Esele and Chief John Kolawole, respectively, said the recent happenings at the House of Representatives involving the Speaker Dimeji Bankole and the group of Progressive lawmakers led by Hon Dino Melaye, were nothing but a shame and insult on Nigerians.
