Speaker stops member’s contribution over ‘improper’ dressing

Enugu — A mild drama played out at Enugu State House of Assembly, Tuesday, when its Speaker, Mr. Eugene Odo, stopped a female member from contributing to a motion for dressing ‘indecently’.

Chika Eneh, representing Udi South Constituency, was stopped from contributing to a motion which sought to send a message of congratulations to the National Chairman of PDP, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo.

Odo’s opinion was supported by Chief Whip of the Assembly, Theresa Egbo, who confirmed that Eneh was not properly dressed.

Eneh had, during a recent inspection of the rehabilitation works on Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, chided an intern with the state’s newspaper for indecent dressing.

The Speaker stopped Eneh from making her contributions to the motion because of what he termed “improper dressing’’.
