AKURE— FOUR suspected gunmen have stormed the residence of the mother of a Labour Party House of Representatives aspirant in Ondo State, Chief Olufemi Adekanmbi and shot sporadically in an attempt to kidnap him.

They ended up kidnapping his mother’s neighbour who they mistook for the aspirant’s mother and have asked for N10m ransom but has been negotiated down to N5million by the aspirant.

But the aspirant left his mother’s residence located at Oke-Ogun area of Owo for Akure ten minutes before the arrival of the gun men.

They reportedly kidnapped a neighbour of Adekanmbi’s mother at about 7:30pm last Saturday.

Vanguard gathered that they came to the area in a gulf car and went straight to the house and asked for Chief Adekanmbi who is eyeing the Owo/Ose federal constituency who had come to pay a visit to his mother.

After they were unable to get their target they asked for the mother of the LP chieftain who it was learnt was having discussion with one of her neighbours.

Not knowing that their victim was not the mother of the aspirant, the gunmen reportedly whisked her away to an unknown destination.

Their victim, Mrs. Titilayo Ewenla, according to findings was in the house so as to ride in the same vehicle to Church with the mother of the aspirant when the gun men stormed the residence and abducted her.
