Former Governor of Kaduna State and  Chairman of  Conference of Nigerian Political Parties, CNPP, Alhaji Balarabe Musa  has dismissed the meeting of prominent  northern  political leaders held last Thursday at Abuja as a gathering of  regional leaders adding that  he would not have   attended the parley if he was invited.

He also  advised  President Goodluck Jonathan not to contest next year’s presidential elections.  Musa  hinged his advice on   the ruling  Peoples Democratic Party’s  (PDP) controversial  zoning policy  which  zoned the position to the north in 2007. He further urged  Jonathan to wait until his party has discarded the zoning policy before he can run for the nation’s top job.

Said he: “ Secondly, he has a lot of work to do. He should not abandon his responsibilities to pursue his ambition to become President. If he does that he would fail.  I think it is in his own interest to exercise patience because he is a young man and therefore has enough time. He can use the next six years to prepare very well so that he can stand a good chance in 2015.”
