GSK releases Horlicks into the market

HEALTHCARE products manufacturering giant, Glaxosmithkline Consumer, GSK, Plc, is set to launch Horlick, a powdered beverage product into the Nigerian market.

Horlicks is a  combination of nutrients required to keep consumers mentally alert and active.
Speaking, briefing in Lagos, Managing Director, GSK Consumer Nigeria,  Mr. Chidi Okoro, said the company was committed to giving its consumers the best and classified Horlicks as a well_researched product in the value-adding portfolio of the company’s healthcare products.

He said: “It is prepared with a unique scientific combination of essential nutrients. He added that the nutritional value of Horlicks is such that will contribute to the Company’s achievement of its mission of enabling people to do more, feel better and live longer.

We are blessed with talents that make realizable our goal of making quality products available to satisfy the expectations of our teeming loyal consumers We also have the capability and drive to make our products available at every nook and cranny of Nigeria and across the West African sub-region.”

While unveiling the product, GSK’s Senior Brand Manager, Mrs. Funke Akinloye, explained that the food drink was designed to nourish families and help them maintain good health.

According to him: “It offers balanced nutrition and vital  nourishment which are parts of healthy and varied diet to help consumers remain healthy.”

She said Horlicks would be available in chocolate and regular variants and differentiated from other powered food drinks in many ways and added that Horlicks was made from a unique combination of wholesome ingredients,  milk/dairy ingredients as well as wheat and malted barley, saying  “It has no preservatives, no artificial colours, no artificial flavours and no artificial sweeteners.”
