The Katsina State Government has so far disbursed about N563.1 million to the contractors handling the construction of 252 new low cost houses along Daura road in Katsina.
The government awarded the contract for the construction of the houses at a cost of about N892 million in December last year, as part of efforts to provide decent and affordable houses to the people.

Permanent Secretary, Katsina State Ministry of Works and Housing, Alhaji Danjuma Alti, who disclosed this in Katsina, said the first phase of the contract which comprises of 168 houses had reached 80 percent completion, while the second phase made up of 84 houses had reached between 45 percent and 50 percent completion.

Alti said the ministry had completed all necessary arrangements to effect another round of payment to the contractors handling other projects shortly. (NAN).
